Spring has sprung!

Well, it is official (and a little late here at our house) but Spring has Sprung! We have had some rainy weather the last few weeks that have kept us feeling gloomy. Well, today has been a beautiful day to be outside enjoying God's handiwork! So, the Hackney's did just that.

We have had 6 little tomato plants growing in our kitchen window sill for a few weeks now. Have you seen the Topsy Turvy Tomato Grower on the infomercial? Well, we were dying to try it and they had it on sale at Home Depot (or as Kate says Hobo Depot) today. We just could not resist. We will keep you posted on the progress. We also planted the remaing plants in the ground after much weed pulling and dirt tilling. Kate purchased some sunflower seeds and planted some sunflowers as well. It will be interesting to see if they germinate and bloom.

I also purchased some petunias today and Mike is going to try his hand at growing bell peppers. We hope to have some nice salads from our little "garden" this year. We are also looking forward to purchasing fresh fruit, veggies, and eggs from our friends Mike and Denise Burns, who own Burns Best Farms www.burnbestfarms.com If you are in North Georgia or even in the Marietta area, you can purchase their home grown fruits and veggies. Check them out!

Tomorrow we will finish our planting and weeding so I will wait to post pictures until we are done. So you can see the before and after. It is amazing to me how God has everything so perfectly planned out and orchestrated to work together! I love being outside and have had a great day. We all three are filthy but we had fun together and that is what is important! Have a great weekend!
